I think that the images and text I have used for my college magazine are appropriate to the target audience of my magazine which are college students. Also I believe that I understood the conventions of layout and page design within my magazine. Some of the conventions I used in my magazine were a masthead at the top, a slogan, a barcode, a price, an issue number and a date for the magazine. Also whilst creating my magazine I was aware that I had to use different font styles and text sizes to make somethings stand out more than others on a page. For example I made the masthead for my magazine quite big and bold with a jagged font and I made the text around the picture on the cover smaller but still quite clear. Also the text size used on the contents page of the magazine is considerably smaller to the font size used for the mast head as it doesn't need to stand out as much.
I think the language used within my college magazine is suitable for college students and makes my magazine appeal to their age group. I deliberately stayed away from language that was too complicated or intellectual as this would be too hard to understand for my target audience and they would get bored quickly and probably not want to read the magazine. At the same time I didn't want to use language that was too simple or babyish because this might make the college students feel as though they are being patronized. also college student are usually between the age of 16 and 25 and so babyish language would definitely not be appropriate.
I believe that I used the ICT appropriately for the task set because I tried to use all the different tools I'd learned about on Indesign to make my magazine the best I could in the time given.
I think that I put appropriate images and text in my magazine and I think my images and text were all relevant to the task.
I thought that the photographs that I took were well taken and appropriate to the task. However I think I should have taken more and had a variety of images to choose from.
Also I think that I manipulated photographs for my magazine appropriately. This is because I cropped some images so all was left was the relevant part that I needed. Also when resizing images I held down the alt key so the pictures don't become distorted or pixelated . This helped me hold on to the original quality of the images which made the magazine look good.
Also my magazine follows the 3 colour rule used in many magazines. The three colours I used were purple, black and white.
Also I think you can tell that the cover and contents age are from the same magazine. This is because they both use similar font styles and have the same colour scheme running through them. Also the photos I used in my magazine are well taken and appropriate.
As well as this I have included enough stories on the cover and contents page and they are all relevant to the task and all appeal to the magazine's target audience of college students.
