music magazine cover analysis- Smash-hits

this magazine is a pop magazine
Genre
This is a pop magazine. I know this because their is lots of pictures of pop artists on the cover such as avril lavigne, cherly cole, McFly and Charlie Simpson. Also the colours used are bright and eye catchy. Also the fonts represent the pop genre. As well as this the stories featured on the cover such as celeb crushes and bad lads are light hearted.

Representation
The artists on the cover are being represented as good looking and Avril lavigne is supposed to look very attractive. They are wearing normal and regular clothes. The attitudes they appear to have are very happy and content.

Audience
The target audience for this magazine is people who listen to pop and teenagers and young adults-boys and girls. I know this because the girls and boys both look attractive on the cover and the colour scheme uses blue and pink.

Media Language
The shot types used on the cover are medium close-ups , closes and mid-long shots. The main colours used are white, pink and blue. The fonts used represent the pop genre very well and are clear and easy to read. The font sizes used are quite big nearer the top and get smaller nearer the bottom. The biggest bit of text on the cover is the masthead which is normal for a magazine and is to be expected. Everyone on the cover is wearing regular clothing and no jewellery
