research and planning- double page spread layout

This is what my original double page spread was going to look like. However on second thoughts I think this layout is too all over the place. Also if I used this layout I would not be able to have a proper article and wouldn't be able to fit all the required information on to the page, because of this I decided to change the layout of my page to a more conventional style that would suit my needs better.

Above is an example of the layout I want on my double page spread. Although this article is not taken from a pop magazine the layout if these pages is commonly found within pop magazines and therefore this layout fits the conventions of the pop genre and can be used in a pop magazine. It is going to now have a full length big picture of the band on the left hand page and text on the right hand page. This is the typical and most common layout for a double page spread.
