Research and planning- genre research : misc-en-scene on album covers and promotional shots within the pop genre

misc-en-scene on album covers and promotional shots within the pop genre

On this album cover a mid shot is used. Also a elegant setting has been used to reflect the artists mood and personality. The colours used are light and natural and these suit the setting perfectly. Also Britney is striking a seductive pose in order to appeal to some of her male fans. The largest font used on the album cover is the name of the artist. This is because the artist's name is the most important thing on a album cover and should stand out the most. Also the lighting used on this album cover creates a happy mood and this is appropriate for the pop genre. Also she is not holding any props in the photo and her hair and make-up are done up and the make-up used has a natural feel to it. As well as this Britney is positioned at the centre of the frame. This is because she is important and the centre of attention on the album cover.

On this CD cover their is a medium close up shot of Kelly Clarkson. There is not really a setting used. Instead there is a colourful background used on this photo. also I think the colours used are loud and striking which reflect our idea of the kind of person that kelly clarkson is. No props are used on the cover. Also she is wearing quite casual yet glamorous clothes. Also her hair and makeup is done to make her look very pretty and the eye liner used makes her eyes stand out and look very striking. Also her facial expression is quite bland and she is looking straight down the camera lense. Also the lighting used on this cover creates a happy mood and this is appropriate for the pop genre. As well as this she is positioned at the centre of the frame. This is because she is important and the centre of attention. The largest font used on the album cover is the name of the artist. This is because the artist's name is the most important thing on a album cover and should stand out the most.

On this poster there is a long shot of the band, One Direction. The setting used looks quite natural. the band do not appear to have any props. Also they are all wearing quite casual yet fashionable clothes. They do not appear to be wearing any makeup. Their facial expression shows they are very happy and excited and this is infectious on the viewer who is looking at the poster. As well as this the lighting used in this image makes it happy. Also the colours used are bright and colourful. Also the band are postioned in eye level to make them relatable. The largest font used is the name of the artist. This is because the artist's name is the most important thing and should stand out the most.
On this CD cover their is a long shot of Cher Lloyd. However this shot in upside down and so makes the audience feel a little disorientated. There is not really a setting used. Instead there is a white background with little dashes of colour. The background looks simple yet well thought out. Also she doesn't have any props.her hair and make-up is done up well. The clothes she is wearing stand out and make a statement about who she is. Her body language shows she is about having fun and is quite unique. The lighting on the cover gives a happy nice feeling to it which is associated with the pop genre. Also the colours used are bright bold happy and fun. Cher's head is positioned in centre frame because she is important and the centre of attention. However the rest of her body is on the right which is very unusual. The largest font used on the album cover is the name of the artist. This is because the artist's name is the most important thing on a album cover and should stand out the most.
